Built in 1930 in Gothic style, the Anglican Diocese erected one of the
first Churches in the area which was then a booming mining
town of around 15,000 & serviced a large congregation.

The closing of the gold mine reduced the town of Rosebery to a population
of 1,500 people with 2 parishners remaining.

The official closing of the Church took place on Saturday
the 5th of May, 2001 with Mr Paul Hayes (the Roman Catholic caretaker)
the only attendent other than the minister
who came from Queenstown to perform the official closing.

The Miner's Cottage was moved onto the church grounds thirty odd
years ago & for the past 20 years a female caretaker has
looked after the property for the Anglican Diocese.
With her leaving the area the Anglican Diocese decided
to officially close the Church.
